Additional songwriting contributions include: bill hudsonis best known for his work with. trans siberian orchestra, i am sick and Circle II Circle.

When asked how his creative process has changed as a solo artist compared to working with a band, Roy said (according to the transcript) Blabber Mouse Net): “Well, I mean, it’s always been that way, like when we worked together.” thomas [Youngblood, KAMELOT guitarist]we always climbed mountains or found a place to isolate ourselves. When writing music, it’s really important to be able to really concentrate. and I do something similar [CONCEPTION guitarist] Tore [Østby]And I just did the same thing to a guy named Kaio Kehyayan Guitarist from Brazil and Adrian Cowan from seven spires. We’ve had several writing sessions.

“I need someone who can play the guitar.” Roy He explained. “Some things I’m pretty good at, and some things I’m not really good at. I play guitar, I play piano, but I’m not really at the technical level that it takes to write these songs the way they should be. And we also interacted with everyone.” Sasha Paes, camelot producer. And yeah, we’re all excited about this team and the new solo stuff coming out. ”

As for what fans can expect from the music from his upcoming solo album, Roy Said: This album is… I mean, it’s inevitable that it’s going to be a bit of a mixture. concept and camelotOf course I’m part of the songwriting, and I’m in charge of all the lyrics and vocals. But I’m trying to capture that sound camelot It happened when I was in a band. That’s the idea. But I’m not very conscious of how I do things. A good song is a good song. But in the back of my mind, that’s what I want. That is also natural in a sense.

“There are many ways to write a song, but usually I sit down with a piano, or I sit down with a guitar, or I sit down with a guitarist, and we just jam, try to catch the gold in the jam, and then develop those little ideas into full songs.”

I asked him what it was like working together. sasha and paesproduction partner Michael “Milo” Rodenberg Again, many years later, Roy Said: “Awesome. They’re very cool. And I met them in Wolfsburg.” [Germany] 2 weeks ago. It was really great. [It was the] saw it for the first time Milo In 18 years or so. It was really great. We met at a small cafe where we usually have dinner and it was very nice. ”

March of this year, Khan asked by Yanis Dras Why didn’t he release a solo record sooner, Rockpages.gr. Roy “I don’t know if there’s a good answer to that. Of course, one answer is: concept,’cause [we] We reunited in 2016. That’s when we really started thinking about writing new songs and working on new material. And it was pretty busy after that. There was also the pandemic, and the years just disappeared in the blink of an eye. And now I have found a good group of people who I feel complement me in a good way. And I’m looking forward to making a new album, that’s for sure.”

Regarding the musical direction of his solo songs, Khan “It’s definitely going to be metal. That’s one of the reasons I love this genre, the melancholy and the heavy guitars. That’s essential. But in some songs we’re walking on the brighter, lighter side of life, but it’s definitely going to be metal. But there are other song ideas and songs that don’t quite fit into this genre. Of course we can arrange them to fit this kind of album.”

He explained: “Some of these ideas are method Go back and like it method return. And when they weren’t used in the past, it was because we had something we needed, or someone on the team didn’t like it, or it didn’t feel like a stylistic fit. This work is a perfect combination of new and old. And there are also older ones that have been fixed and changed in some way. ”

Roy He went on to say that some of the songs on his upcoming solo album were created as a collaboration with other musicians.

“I play guitar, I play piano, but it’s always good to have someone who can really, really play. That way you can draw ideas out of them, and they might have ideas too,” he explained. “So, there are songs that I’ve written with other people, but that’s a big part of the fun of doing this job…There’s one guy that’s a big part of it. That’s it.” Kaio Kehyayan. he plays in a brazilian band fire wing. He is very kind and knowledgeable about recording techniques etc. It’s really amazing. And he’s a creative and really talented guitarist. looking forward to it [to it]. I’ll take him too [to perform with me] Live. “
