Hoboken, NJ A graduate student Parker Adkins as the Ducks downed Wentworth Institute of Technology by four sets and Montclair State University by five on Friday night.
The Ducks (8-1) topped Wentworth 25-22, 25-12, 25-27, and 25-16 before outlasting Montclair 25-19, 20-25, 19-25, 25-13, and 15- 13.

The hosts raced to a 13-4 advantage in the fourth quarter, as Adkins hit three kills. Back-to-back service aces brought it to 13-7, but Stevens brought the score back to double figures with a Dion kill. The Leopards saved two points, but Maggio gave the Ducks the win with a kill.
The Ducks doubled Montclair’s lead 6-3 before the Red Hawks reeled off four straight points to take a 7-6 lead. A 3-0 run by Stevens gave the Ducks the lead for good, as did kills from Adkins, Harris and Dion. The Red Hawks closed in the third period but couldn’t get any closer as Maggio threw away a Harris tip.
Montclair jumped out to an 8-3 lead in the second, but back-to-back kills from Dion and Adkins made it 13-10. The Ducks made it interesting, using a 6-2 run to go up 24-20. An attack error gave Montclair a 25-20 victory, tying the game at one. The third quarter saw ties at 5,6,7,9,10, and 13 before three straight scores put Montclair up three. Stevens fought back in ties 17, 18, and 19, but the Red Hawks scored the last seven points to go up 2-1.
A 9-1 run by the Ducks gave them a 17-9 lead in the fourth, with Lisboa driving four homers. The Red Hawks countered with three straight points before an ace from Harris and a kill from Maggio made it 20-12. Dion served up a set from Harris to take the fourth set and tie the game in the second.
Montclair scored the first three points of the final frame before Stevens scored the next four. The visitors went ahead 8-7 before the two sides were 8,9,10, and 11. Adkins hit two kills, and Dion and Adkins’ double putt produced a point. game. The visitors battled back before Dion sealed the victory with a kill.
