Shea Langeliers is the anchor of the Athletics’ batting lineup, covering the ball, and is a prime target for top MLB player props on Friday.

Delicious Friday is approaching. With an extensive menu of props and some spicy sprinkles throughout this production, there are several plays that should satisfy those cravings.
Tonight, we look at Jack Flaherty, Kyle Schwarber, and Shea Langeliers, and it could be a profitable night on the diamond for MLB player props.
Take a look at our MLB picks for May 22nd.

Jack Flaherty, 2.5+ walks (-110)
The prop I’ve been monitoring for the past few weeks has become one of my favorite sweats. Granted, I’m 1-1 so far taking over Jack Flaherty’s walks, and sure enough, the last time I was at prop he didn’t have any.
However, in the first inning, he walked three players in the first 39 pitches. The Detroit Tigers right-hander has an 18.4% walk rate on the road this season, allowing 3.6 walks per outing on the road.
Meanwhile, the Baltimore Orioles have six batters with a walk rate of 7.7% or higher. Zooming in a little further, there are four players who own a walk rate of 11.1% or higher. Overall, their walk rate as a team is 10.3%, tied for 10th in baseball.
If finding the zone on the road is Flaherty’s kryptonite, I’d love to take over his walk, especially away from home. If you have to pay for juice, give this props. Look for books that offer positive money, as the risk is greater than putting up additional funds.

Kyle Schwarber Hits, runs, RBIs 1.5 or more (+100)
I will go to the bank twice today. First go to Citizens Bank Park and then to your personal bank to deposit your winnings (if possible). Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber found himself in prime position tonight to face Cleveland Guardians right-hander Gavin Williams. According to Batter’s Box, the Phillies’ designated hitter has the highest batter rating in this matchup.
In an elite rating of 96 at home, Schwarber produced an incredible trend, hitting at least 64.58% of the time and cashing in on this prop 56.25% of the time. This slugger has exceeded 2+ HRR in eight of the last 10 Elite ratings.
Left-handed hitters have been giving Williams a hard time this season. He allowed a lot of hard contact and home runs in his first nine or 10 games. On top of that, over the past 60 left-handed batters he has faced, these batters have boasted a .685 xSLG, compared to a 1.93 HR/9 for right-handed batters.
If you can find a Schwarber hit prop for under -150 and are in the business of paying juice, go for it. However, use HRR props only if you can get them for positive money. His hit price tonight is surprisingly low.
Also, don’t be afraid to sprinkle on the big man leaving the yard today, as he is rated as an elite player and hits home runs 35.42% of the time.

Shea Langeliers 1.5 hits, RBI, RBI or more (-115)
That night, he would face San Diego Padres right-hander Walker Buehler, who had the second-worst pitcher rating of the day in the batter’s box, get more than 1.5 hits, runs, and RBIs, and end the night with a hard hit from Shea Langeliers.
Padres starters also rank low in wOBA, ISO, and strikeout rate against average batters faced.
In his last few starts, Buehler has improved his baseball by allowing a lot of hard contact to right-handed batters, and his ground ball rate against right-handed batters in his last 60 games has been just 34.9%.
The Athletics’ star catcher owns the third-highest Elite rating in this matchup. In 16 elite ratings away, Langelier created a strong trend.
- 1+hit: 62.5%
- 1 RBI or more: 56.25%
- HRR for 2 or more people: 50%
- Home run: 31.25%
Langeliers also owned the third-highest Arsenal coverage among elite-rated hitters on this day, crushing nearly 75% of Buehler’s offers. On top of that, he’s been amazing as a right-handed pitcher this season, with a barrel rate of 16.19%.
Considering how strong the percentage change is for the Athletics slugger, I sprinkled in his home run prop as well. If you can’t find numbers where his HRR is hovering around -115, get the base prop for plus money.
