Miley Cyrus receives star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Miley Cyrus received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday.

The Grammy Award-winning actress, beloved for her role on the hit Disney Channel sitcom “Hannah Montana,” was honored at a star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles.

Cyrus was all smiles as she accepted the honor, saying it was a moment she’ll never forget.

During her speech, Cyrus talked about the song “Walk of Fame” from her 2025 album Something Beautiful, which she co-wrote with songwriter, musician, and Alabama Shakes frontwoman Brittany Howard. Howard also played vocals and guitar on the song.

Cyrus pointed out Friday that the song ends with Howard singing the words “You’ll live forever.”

“I love the lyrics, but the reality is not. [live forever] “That’s what creates the sense of urgency that ignites my heart, my life, my art, and my desire to break through the walls of every box we’ve been tricked into believing exists,” she said.

she continued. “My father used to say that a skyscraper begins with a jackhammer, and by the way, a star on the Walk of Fame is the same thing. And it’s not about power, it’s about repetition. What’s special about this star to me is that it’s a product of dedication.”

Cyrus then reflected on her future legacy, saying she hopes it extends beyond the star herself.

“Stars aren’t something you can win like a seasonal game. They’re not something you can chase and collect. They’re not something you set the next record and carry around like a trophy,” she said. “…1 o’clock [p.m.]this moment ends and we return to our city that we all share and love so much, the bustling streets full of unique people and those exploring here for the first time. From today onwards, I promise to continue the cycle of creation, because that is what I truly live for. ”

“My hope is that my legacy will continue to influence the hearts of generations to come, generations that will never have the experience I had here,” he added. “I hope it awakens something raw and imperfect and sexy and fascinating and fun when you need it.”

Cyrus ended her speech by thanking her fans, family, her mother Tish Cyrus and sister Brandi Cyrus, and “her future family” who attended Friday’s event.

Elsewhere during the ceremony, actress Anya Taylor-Joy and designer Donatella Versace honored Cyrus with moving tributes.

In her speech, Joy recalled the first time she came across Cyrus’ photo in an issue of J-14 magazine.

“I thought she was going to grow out of this,” Joy said. “What I didn’t know [is that] The word “huge” hardly covers it. ”

She added: “She challenged the rules, she rewrote them, and she set them on fire, sometimes by donning a teddy bear costume. Miley, darling, you were, and are, quite literally, a star.”

Versace, who dressed Cyrus for Friday’s ceremony, echoed Joy, telling Cyrus, “The star is who you are. You shine with strength, dedication, and love.”

She ended her speech with a remembrance for those who visit Cyrus’ star on the Walk of Fame.

“Remember, if you’re going to step over Miley’s star, do it with attitude,” Versace said.
