OSU had three errors, but Nebraska’s defense made great catches in the outfield and handled ground balls with precision. The Huskers ended the game with a double play, but Rebel appreciated it even more when OSU had momentum.

“When you get to this point in the season, the cliches of pitching and defense really win championships,” Rebel said. “And once the attack creates some distance and distance, you can just breathe a little bit.”

Nebraska averaged seven points per game during the regular season, but seven points per game in three regional games. Rebel and his staff asked batters to swing more aggressively instead of passing the ball.

Just like in 2025, Nebraska won the first game of the super regional. Will they be able to close the deal?
